During our recent family vacation at the Pensjonat, we encountered mixed experiences. After a long day of travel, we arrived late at 10:10 PM and were unfortunately met with an unwelcoming reception. The receptionist was rather dismissive when we asked for a late drink after our exhausting journey. It might have been a simple gesture to offer us tea or coffee, especially since we had been stuck at the border without food or beverage. Not all was lost. The night porter was friendly, and the breakfast waitresses were attentive, ensuring we had a cozy start to our day. The hotel does offer family-friendly amenities, like spacious rooms and a lovely garden where children under three can freely play. My little ones enjoyed exploring this space, and it became a delightful part of our stay. While the initial reception was rather disappointing, I appreciated the efforts of the breakfast staff. Pensjonat provides a decent base for families, and I recommend it for those seeking adventure in Sri Lanka’s beautiful landscapes amidst its tea culture.
